Photographic Works
Jameel Haiat's most recent works are a study of his home and surroundings of Doi Saket, Thailand combined in conjunction with his ongoing struggle with cancer recovery.
These images reflect his loss of physicality within his body, but allude to his increased creativity and output. Both concepts live within the artist in a continual conversation of "what was versus what is" and how these concepts challenge the artist for authority on a daily basis.
As part of the aptly title series "Faded Memories", these pieces are also included as published works in his latest poetry book Leave It in the Rice Field for the reader/viewer to own their own mini version of most of the collection.
